Interests:
Ice Skating -
Many years ago, I was consumed with the sport of ice skating. I
competed in Pairs for many years, being on the National Team 4
times. After competing in pairs, singles and dance, I turned my
talents to becoming a Judge. I enjoyed judging and rose up in
the ranking to the Gold level. I retired from judging after 10
years because of the rampant politics that rule the sport to this
day.
Note. I truly think
that Michele Kwan may be the best overall female skater
EVER....

Racing -
I switched from skating to running as a way to keep active. I
have always been "driven" to be better, faster, and soon found myself
competing at 5K, 10K, half and than full marathons. My greatest
achievements were in the full marathons. I ran my first
marathon in San Francisco. It was a disaster. Lots of
physical problems during the race. I HAD to run another one
just to prove to myself that I could do a decent job. One year
later I entered my second marathon. The second one was
wonderful. Every thing about the race was
wonderful.
It was truly a
triumph!
Sadly, I have not been able
to run now for the past 10 years. I have developed a hip injury
that makes it to painful to run.
Tennis -
Tennis was always a sport I enjoyed. Fresh air. An
activity to share with friends. I discovered that because of
the variety of movements, my hip injury from running was not a
factor. I had only to contend with the
weather.
My favorite players to
watch: Big Boris, (ret.) Andre Agassi, Jim Courier (ret.) and
Thomas Muster (ret.).
